Great breakfast Saturday morning. 4 of us, sat on back patio. Quaint atmosphere. We had great service. Enjoyed fruit smoothie, chilaquiles, mushroom omelette, quiche Lorraine, and burata avocado toast. All were excellent.

Masa Madre Cafe is one of the best restaurants i have been to in a long time! I thought the flavors were wonderful and interesting. We had the pork chops and the mushroom pasta and the focaccia for an appetizer. We felt the value was very good.

Masa Madre was such a delight! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The restaurant was beautiful and filled with lush plants. We could have stayed here for hours. Great breakfast, coffee, or place to have a drink. Highly recommend.

This was an excellent meal! We went here for brunch, which made sense with their hours. Good location on the corner of 49 and 52, offering lovely decor with lots of options for seating inside, or in their courtyard outside. The food was delicious. My partner had the salmon toast with goat cheese, and he said it was the best breakfast he's had since being in Merida for more than 4 months. I chose the eggs benedict, which came with ham (no avocado) according to the menu. Mistakes happen and we understand this... and this was the situation with my meal. They put avocado on it and there was no ham. I mentioned it to the server and he handled it well by bringing me the ham separately right away. The food was all so good I will still give this restaurant a full 5 star rating. We have already told others about the restaurant and we will be going back.

Had a wonderful breakfast. The food was excellent, the patio was shaded and green, but above all the service was amazingly friendly. The eggs in the Benedict were perfectly poached and the toque of Chipotle in the hollandaise was great. Ate out for breakfast five times this trip and this was by far the best experience.

Our favorite breakfast/brunch spot in Merida first discovered last year. We have had meals there 14 times during our 5 week stay this year, mostly brunch. Very nice back patio, but on extremely hot days they have indoor AC and fans. The food is exceptional, inventive, but honors local dishes with wonderful chef additions. Mauricio is the chef owner who has a passion for fresh food and is often in the restaurant. Ehbi, a young man from Cuba, was our ever helpful and attentive server who we would see and greet on the streets of the neighborhood. We sampled the entire menu, and as others have noted, the benedicts are special, the omelets very good, they have interesting breakfast toasts on house-baked bread, and we always had a plato de fruita with our meals. For me, the dish that I could not give up by the end of the trip was the chilaquiles rojas with two soft fried eggs (50 pesos) and papas (45 pesos) added. It’s the sauce and with additions like fermented onion, bits of avocado, and some chiles, it is unlike what you have ever had. I will dream of it the rest of my life, but the friendships and warmth of service is what we hold special.
